Hi All
I hope this is the correct place to open up this topic.
Being a Methatrexate user and hopefully a soon to be Anti TNF user I was worried about carrying around information about the drugs etc that I use I came across a web site that promotes "Dog Tag" with an integrated USB connection.

One you have entered your "private" information and Drug usages any paramedic/ Doctor can plug in your "dog tag" and review your medication.

I am in no way connected to this company but thought it might be useful to everybody on the site.

The site is http://www.theidbandco.com/

I hope it might be useful to somebody on the site - apologies if this item has been mentioned before

Hi, bought an SOS braclet, thinking that if (god forbid ) i was in an accident and couldn't give my information to anyone, is there a better chance they'd check for a pulse in my wrist and see the bracelet. Confused If i wore the necklace version would it be found as there might not be the need to look at around my neck.

If i carried my info in my bag that could be lost, or presumed to belong to someone else. Confused

I'd like to know where or if paramedics look for this info too. Perhaps on my next visit to the hospital i'll ask about this.

Had a look on the " idband site " there's plenty of choice and the prices arn't to bad. ThumpUp Kathleen.

I've asked this question today at the hospital, I've been worried about this, especially since starting in MTX, I now take around 70 tablets a week. Nothing to bragg about I know, I hate it but, I look so well.......picture on the left, who would think that I take so many toxic drugs.

She said that if I did have an accident (heave forbid) and I had to have emergency treatment, the fact that it was an emergency would take priority.........in other words if I wasn't given the emergency drugs I would more than likely pop my clogs (thats my interpretation of what she meant not her exact wording).

She did say that I wasn't taking anything that would cause serious problems anyway but it if I wanted to I could keep a copy of my repeat prescription in my bag.

Thanks for that, what a good idea. I may look into this. I have wondered about this in the past, and always keep my Steroid Alert card in my purse in the hope that someone would look for my id there. Also have repeat script in my handbag.

I was advised by one of my GPs to have a medical ID bracelet, necklace etc. I have a bracelet which looks like a Thomas Sabo one and instead of the usual charms it carries 3 discs of different designs with various information on them. As I was on prednisolone she thought it important in the event of accidents etc. (hopefully won't be needed!) so its there just incase.

thanks for the link on the USBs.

I have a medic alert bracelet but only got one once I had been diagnosed with addisons. I think when you are on the other meds for the RA, other than the alert cards something like a USB tag would be ideal.

I will certainly mention it to my sister with Lupus.
